~ Didache 10.5

Carmelite Nun at Prayer

The Lord God calls warriors from every generation. There are not that many. When they die, they move on to make war against the enemy–the world system, the flesh, and the Devil–for every soul left behind here–for we fight not against flesh and blood. Ever. Beforehand, though, each soul which longs to be united with God must be purged in the Dark Night of the Soul–as it battles for the King, putting his enemies under his feet. Thus is the work of the Church Militant as we await the Day of the Church Victorious.
The new vision for monastics is one in which those who deeply love Jesus above anything else live independent of religious organizations or institutions, independent of overarching rules and dogmas—free to follow the excellent guidance of the Holy Spirit in sacred lives, married or celibate, yet united in the common cause of living in exile from our Country, sword and shield in hand, stalking the enemies of the Cross as we wage war covered in the Blood of God.
Christians are focused upon maneuvering through darkness–the darkness of our original sin, our wills, desires, and attachments and loves of things other than God; our disillusionment, disappointments, discouragements, feelings of being unloved and unappreciated and unimportant or unworthy–the darkness of a lack of worth and fatigue–the heavy destructive darkness that tells me I can earn my own salvation and live off my own resources–the deceptive and blinding darkness of the false gods I have created and the unreal expectations I insist upon, for myself and for others. Christians believe that deep within each soul lies the fire of God–even if it feels like cooling embers, or cold charcoal, this fire never dies, because the human spirit is the spark of God.
The OSL–Order of Saints in the Land–is a Christian palaestra, or fighting school, of prayer whose physical manifestation is the Monastery of Saints in the Land in Saint Augustine, and whose full revelation is found in Jesus, and nowhere else.
Any traditionally married or celibate Believer may join us.
We have been caught up in the current cleansing of the Body of Christ (convictions of sin, holiness, and judgment) and the reunification of separated Believers from all Christian churches and denominations.
We know that the only true ministry on Earth is unceasing prayer, from which various ministries spring–if they spring at all.
Our main work–the end of all means–is to worship our God and to remain in constant, unbroken communion with Him, and in doing this we shed His love abroad to all who long for His Presence.
Holy Communion, the 3 Vows of Poverty and Chastity and Obedience, Prayer, and the Love Commandment all work together to create an easy yoke and a light burden, thus simplifying yet purifying the walk with Jesus.
Holiness. This is the vision given by our Lord Jesus to the Order of Saints in the Land.
Pray with us.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it for you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement, by reason of the life.
Leviticus 17.11
OSL Disciples
As for the saints in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight.
Psalm 16.3
Our door is always open to visitors should you find yourself in Florida. We are Christians founded in Biblical teaching as led by the Holy Spirit, our Light and our Life.
‘Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who observes his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.’ ~ James 1
Jeremiah 29.7
Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
